The Paper Hoarder

Sweet Engagement!

My friends finally got engaged after many years of dating.  I made this card for them and supplied the bride-to-be with an assortment of wedding mags for her perusing pleasure.

Congrats Melissa and Toby!

I Just Can’t Stop…

I get about 2 emails daily from craft supply site Oh My Crafts and some times I have to give into the temptation.

Even though I have a tonne of embossing folders, I still ordered 3 Sizzix sets last week. This is what I got:

Wedding Set 2:

Spring Bird and Flowers:

Winter Set 2:

And now the wait for them to come in…

Purrrfect!

I made this card for a friend who just adopted a new kitten.  The cat cut is from Create a Critter cart and I used a Sizzix folder to emboss the background.  Added some cute googly eyes!

Here he is, the smaller guy on the left.  His name is Niku and he’s grooming his friend Sahib.  He’s a very curious and rambunctious kitten.  He’s going to be a handful!

Sweet, Sweet Summer

So happy now that the weather is warmer and summer has finally arrived.  I made this thank you card for a friend’s mom who let us take over her newly renovated cottage for the weekend.

The popsicles are adorable and cut from Simply Charmed cartridge and I used a Sizzix folder to emboss the background.

The lovely cottage:

Thanks again, Sheila!

A Good Week in Mail

The good news is that the Canada Post lock out is over this week.  The better news is that I got 2 great crafting packages in the mail.

First, my blog candy from Scrappin Great Deals blog:

It’s a Bo Bunny(Gabrielle) paper set and it came packaged very delicately wrapped with tissue paper in a pizza box.  How clever.  Thanks to Sheila and Scrappin Great Deals!

And my order from Oh My Crafts finally came in…Sizzix folders a plenty!  I can’t wait to emboss things, any thing!

Happy Father’s Day!

It’s a beautiful Sunday and time to celebrate dads!

I was lucky enough to see both my dads this week and was planning on sending them their card through the mail.  However, with the Canada Post lock out, they will have to wait a bit longer to receive their cards.

So here’s their sneak peek:

I was hoping to find a beer on a Cricut cartridge and when none existed, I had to improvise.  The beer mug is a mug from Joys of the Season and the beer head is a cloud from the Hello Kitty cartridge.  Here’s hoping that Provo Craft will come out with a beverages-themed cartridge in the near future.

Update - Canada Post lockout is over and Dad gets his Father’s Day card:

Craft Hoarding Find

In the face of a looming postal strike, only I would go ahead and order something online from US craft site, Oh My Crafts.

I couldn’t help myself when I saw Sizzix embossing folders that regularly retail in Michael’s stores for $18.99 marked down to $1.99.  Even with shipping and handling costs, the pricing was very reasonable.  Not to mention that there was a coupon code (SUMMER10) for an extra 10% off.

Here’s what I ordered:

Diamonds & Snow Caps:

Evergreen & Snow Flowers:

Peppermint Twists & Scallops (I thought the one of the left was little pineapples but looks like they are suppose to be peppermint candies):

Chandelier & Thank You Set:

So now I wait patiently…my hope is that there will not be a postal strike so that I will receive my goods in 3-4 weeks.
