A shout out to all the dads out there…this is your day! I have to admit, I kinda dropped the ball on the cards this year. The day kinda crept up on me and then I panicked and made something quick to get into the mail for my dads and I still think the cards will arrive late. Fail on my part.
Here’s the super simple card I made…it’s manly and says Dad!
I used my new Mr. Maverick Cuttlebug folder. The ‘dad’ font was cut from Beyond Birthdays cartridge and the mustache is from Everyday Paper Dolls. It was part of a mustache/beard combo so I just used scissors to cut the mustache free since I didn’t really have a need for the beard part.
I’ve been good about buying Cricut cartridges…in fact, I don’t think I’ve bought a new one in well over a year but I can’t help myself from acquiring more Cuttlebug folders. I have a problem, I know…but I just can’t stop.

My friends finally got engaged after many years of dating. I made this card for them and supplied the bride-to-be with an assortment of wedding mags for her perusing pleasure.

Spring is on its way. I made this bright coloured birthday card for a friend!
I cut the cake using the Cricut Lite cartridge Celebrate with a Flourish. For some reason, my machine does not like to cut flourishes. It took over 5-6 tries before I could get it right. The flourish would keep tearing in the paper…so frustrating! Final result looked good, just took a couple tries to get there.
My cousin had a jungle themed baby shower on the weekend. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the party but I did make this card for her and sent her gift ahead of time.
The monkey and vine are cut from Create a Critter cartridge. The text is from the Welcome Baby Cuttlebug die and for the embossing, I used the Seeing Spots folder.
Can’t wait to meet the new little monkey!
It snowed this morning and it got me thinking about how nice it would be to sit on a beach in the warm sun and have a nap.
Speaking of beaches, I made this card for a friend who’s having a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic this week.
The bikini and swim trunks are from the Life’s a Beach cartridge and I used the Love Language Cuttlebug folder for the background.
My friend Amanda visited on the weekend, which also happened to be her birthday weekend. It’s not very often we get to celebrate her birthday so I made her this card. I thought about sending it but figured I would just give it to her in person.
I joined the website Meetup.com last year after a friend told me about a variety of interesting groups that are on there. She ended up at a meeting for introverts, and she is so not an introvert, but she still had a good time.
I had a look at the groups and joined three - Beer Lovers, Snowboarding Social Group and Stamping, Card Making and Scrapbooking.
The Snowboarding and Beer groups constantly have events, which I haven’t had a chance to check out yet. This past weekend, I decided to go to a meet up for the Stamping/Card Making/Scrapbooking group.
Group organizer Meaghan hosted at her house, which conveniently for me was only a few minutes walk away from my place.
There were five ladies in attendance and it was great to meet everyone since we all had unique card making techniques. As always, it’s also fun to fondle and try new products.
